Heather: Blog #2

This semester, I attended a webinar from PCMA titled The Methodology Behind Planning an Online Event or Webcast. The webinar was hosted by Emma King and Emma Meyer, both of whom work for the company INXPO. INXPO is a company that helps businesses communicate with audiences through video experiences. Working for INXPO allowed the hosts to be very knowledge about the topic of the webinar, which was the first in a series that discussed the 6 elements that make up the methodology behind planning a successful online event. These 6 elements include: content, audience acquisition, evaluation and measurement, goals and strategy, deployment, presenters, and expertise. This session specifically focused on three of the aspects of planning an online event. The first of which was how to create your business strategy and goals for your event. The second objective of the webinar was to learn how to set up a promotion plan that would attract an audience for your event. The third and final objective of the webinar session was how to define a plan and timeline for delivery for your online event. This was actually the first webinar I have ever attended and I found the experience to be very interesting as I was able to learn a lot from industry experts in the comfort of my own home.
