Adrian Class Reflection

I believe this course has taught me a lot. It offers different perspectives into events which most of us do not think of while attending such events. It enables students to properly know the ins and outs of events. For instance, this course taught me how to leverage a budget. It details what events are most suitable for the kind of reception one is planning to host. It offers explanations as to how to select a venue, what kinds of details to look for, how to host this event with the funds available and how to manage risk.
One aspect of the course I particularly enjoyed was the risk management section. One makes this particularly interesting is how it applies to other subjects within the field of business. It taught me how to anticipate unforeseen events throughout the planning phase, and how to adapt as soon as possible to ensure a smooth running of conferences despite major setbacks.

Finally, the aspect I enjoyed most about the course was the hand on experience. We had multiple occasions where event-planning professionals came and explained their profession, which was interesting and educational. Furthermore, I particularly enjoyed the class simulations and field trips, as it allowed us to see what we learned in class in action.
