Yesterday
I had the pleasure of attending "Taste of DC”, which is a food truck
festival that happens a few times a year. I found this event on Groupon and
they were offering a deal on tickets prices since it was being held on Easter. I would like to consider myself to be a foodie,
so I love that DC offers lots of events through out the year where food is the
focal point of the event. The event took place from 11am-6pm on the Navy Yards and
there were several food trucks, vendors, and beverage stations. While walking
around I was able to sample a lot of beers and wines and also get some free
promotional swag that certain vendors were distributing such as lip balm and
sunglasses. The headlining sponsor for
the event was Budweiser. There was promotional signage for Budweiser around the
event and also all the cups that were handed out for the beers and other drinks
were in Budweiser cups. All the food trucks that I tried were simply amazing
between my friend and I we went to three different food trucks. We tried Red
hook lobster pound, Dc Slices and Thai Gourmet. All of the trucks were serving
their popular dishes to get the word out about their trucks, which was a good
marketing tactic for the trucks. My Favorite dish had to be the lobster roll
from the Red Hook Lobster pound truck. It was my first time trying a lobster
roll and I was quite impressed! One of the best aspects of this event was the volunteer
that were working at the different beverage stations. Everyone was very
friendly and it made the event even better by seeing such positive attitudes
from everyone at each of the stations.
